Argentine President Javier Milei Honored at New York Yeshiva
Argentine President Javier Milei visited the Darchei Torah yeshiva in Far Rockaway, Queens, New York, on Tuesday during his trip to the United States for the UN General Assembly. Milei, a strong supporter of Israel and the Jewish community, received the "Friend of Israel" award from the institution in recognition of his stances. He then addressed the students of the Orthodox Jewish institution in Spanish.
Footage released by his office showed the president dancing with students to the chant "Am Israel Hai" as he departed the school. Since taking office, Milei has prioritized strengthening ties with Israel as a key aspect of his foreign policy and has also sought to enhance relations with Jewish communities and organizations.
Milei's visit to New York is scheduled to include several meetings before he addresses the UN General Assembly.
