Israeli Premier League Player Salaries Revealed to Exceed National Average

The average net monthly salary for a player in Israel's top football league, the Premier League, has been revealed to be NIS 45,000. This figure, derived from an agreement between the Players' Union and the Football Association, significantly surpasses the national average gross monthly salary of NIS 15,218, according to the Central Bureau of Statistics. The highest earner in the Premier League is reportedly Maccabi Tel Aviv's James Tavernier, with an estimated net annual salary of €750,000, equating to €75,000 net per month.

In contrast, the average net monthly salary in the second-tier National League is considerably lower, standing at NIS 8,000. This league includes many young players, soldiers, and less experienced professionals. Notably, this average is below the national average salary. However, exceptions exist, with Dor Micha noted as earning NIS 60,000 net per month at MS Ashdod, indicating high earners are present even in the second division.

The report, which emerged from the "Press Box - Tuesday's Headlines" program on Sport 5, highlights these figures as general data points used for calculating fines related to player conduct and disciplinary infractions. While the exact methodology for these calculations remains unclear, the figures were presented by the Football Association as representative of player earnings in both the first and second leagues.
