Maccabi Haifa's Ali Mohamed Cleared to Play After Injury Scare

Maccabi Haifa's veteran midfielder Ali Mohamed has been cleared to play after an injury scare during the team's recent match against Ironi Tiberias. Mohamed, 30, was substituted early in the game, around the 26th minute, due to a muscle injury. He initially attempted to continue playing but was eventually replaced by Yarin Levi, appearing visibly distressed as he left the field.

Despite initial concerns, the club is relieved to report that Mohamed's injury is not significant. He has since departed Israel to join his national team, Niger, for upcoming matches in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. Niger is scheduled to play Lesotho on Friday and Gabon on Tuesday, followed by a friendly against Algeria the following week.

Mohamed, who started the season on the bench, has become a regular starter for Maccabi Haifa in recent games under coach Barak Bakhar, featuring in the starting lineup for the last three league matches after coming on as a substitute in the second half of the second-round loss to Maccabi Tel Aviv.
