Maccabi Haifa Midfielder Ali Mohamed Cleared for International Duty After Injury Scare
Maccabi Haifa Football Club has received positive news regarding midfielder Ali Mohamed, who suffered a muscle injury during the team's recent match against Ironi Tiberias. The 30-year-old player, initially appearing distressed after being substituted in the 26th minute, has been cleared by the club and is fit to travel. He has already departed Israel to join his national team, Niger, for upcoming matches.
Mohamed's injury occurred on Saturday, and despite his visible discomfort, club officials are relieved to confirm it is not significant. He was replaced by Yarin Levi during the game against Tiberias. His return to fitness allows him to participate in Niger's qualifying matches for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
Niger is scheduled to play Lesotho on Friday and Gabon the following Tuesday as part of the AFCON qualifiers. Additionally, the team has a friendly match scheduled against Algeria the week after.
Mohamed, a veteran player, began the current season on the bench but has since become a regular starter for Maccabi Haifa under coach Barak Bakhar, featuring in the starting lineup for the last three league games after coming on as a substitute in the second half of the loss to Maccabi Tel Aviv.
