Rabbi Engel Blesses Settlement Growth at Emek Dotan Yeshiva

Rabbi Avraham Engel of the Ateret Mordechai Yeshiva in Safed visited the Emek Dotan Yeshiva in the northern Samaria region, led by Rabbis Chaim Baruch and Binyamin Pellaheimer. During his visit, Rabbi Engel delivered remarks focusing on Jewish settlement and Torah study in the area, which is associated with the biblical story of Joseph and his brothers.

Standing before the students and the surrounding settlements, Rabbi Engel recited the blessing "Matziv Gvul Almana" (He Who Establishes a Widow's Border) and expressed his hope to see hundreds of students studying there in the future. He highlighted the significance of Jewish presence and the establishment of a Torah center in Emek Dotan, pointing to the visible settlements and the yeshiva's activities as a testament to the Jewish people's resurgence.

Rabbi Engel drew a parallel between the current era of settlement and building in the Land of Israel and the difficult periods the Jewish people endured in the diaspora, referencing figures like Haj Amin al-Husseini and his ties to Nazi Germany during World War II. He emphasized the transition from existential threat to a reality of growth and development.

He further connected the area's significance to the biblical narrative of Joseph seeking his brothers, interpreting it as a call for unity and the expansion of Torah study. Rabbi Engel concluded by wishing for the continued development of the Emek Dotan Yeshiva, envisioning a future with "tens and hundreds of students" to "increase and glorify Torah."
