Beilinson Medical Center Reverses Decision to Remove Rabin's Name from Logo

The Beilinson Medical Center has reversed its decision to remove the name of former Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin from its new logo, following significant public backlash and criticism. Dr. Erez Barnboim, director of the medical center, announced the reversal and ordered the name to be reinstated.

Barnboim issued a letter of apology to department heads, stating that the name "Rabin Medical Center" was given to honor Rabin and is an inseparable part of the center's identity, heritage, and history. He emphasized pride in the name and its significance, instructing that the logo be corrected to clearly display "Rabin Medical Center."

Beilinson also posted an apology on Facebook, acknowledging that the logo change had offended the public and expressing regret. The statement confirmed that the name "Rabin Medical Center" had not changed and would not be omitted.

The reversal comes just days after the introduction of a new branding that featured "Beilinson" and a blue flower, omitting "Rabin Medical Center." Initially, the center's management explained that patient surveys indicated confusion around the name "Rabin" and that the goal was to simplify local branding and aid patient identification of the hospitals.

However, the move sparked widespread public and medical criticism. Dalia Rabin, Yitzhak Rabin's daughter, stated the change was made without the family's knowledge and that she had received inquiries from doctors. Following the criticism, the center's management has now retracted the graphic design decision, confirming that Yitzhak Rabin's name will remain a clear part of the branding.
