Dozens Report Vehicle Damage After Fueling at Ramon Crater Gas Station

Twenty-seven drivers in Ramon Crater are reporting significant damage to their vehicles after refueling at a "Delek Menta" gas station. The drivers claim the fuel was contaminated, leading to severe malfunctions and costly repairs. One affected driver, Tamar Korkin, described her car beginning to sputter after fueling, with a mechanic confirming the presence of diluted fuel. She stated that 26 other vehicles experienced similar issues from the same station.

Another driver, Sigalit Ben Hamo, who relies on her vehicle for medical treatments, reported her car emitting smoke and strange noises. The local tow truck service in Ramon Crater was reportedly overwhelmed with calls to remove damaged vehicles. Or Kanias, another affected customer, had her new car's engine stall, with mechanics attributing the problem to bad fuel.

Delek Israel stated that an initial test of the fuel on September 8th showed normal results. However, a subsequent test by the Fuel Administration on September 14th indicated an abnormality. Delek Israel conducted another test with the same lab, which again yielded normal results, noting that the Fuel Administration's test occurred five days after the initial complaints and that station tanks are refilled every two days. The company maintains that based on their tests, there is no indication of a problem with the fuel supplied. Nevertheless, Delek Israel has activated its insurance and will cover the repair costs for customers whose vehicles are found to have been damaged by the fuel.
