Dozens Report Vehicle Damage After Fueling at Ramon's Leap Station

Twenty-seven drivers in Ramon's Leap (Mitzpe Ramon) are reporting significant damage to their vehicles following refueling at a 'Delek Menta' gas station. The drivers claim the fuel was contaminated, leading to severe malfunctions and costly repairs. One affected driver, Tamar Korkin, stated her car began to sputter after fueling, and a mechanic's inspection indicated diluted fuel. She is part of a group of 27 individuals experiencing similar issues from the same station.

Another driver, Sigalit Ben Hamo, who relies on her car for medical treatments, described her vehicle emitting smoke and strange noises. The local tow truck service in the area was reportedly overwhelmed with calls to remove damaged vehicles. Or Kanias, another affected customer, reported her new car's engine died shortly after refueling, with mechanics attributing the problem to bad fuel.

Delek Israel, the company operating the station, stated that an initial test of the fuel on September 8th showed normal results. However, a subsequent test by the Fuel Administration on September 14th indicated an abnormality. Delek Israel conducted another test, which returned normal results, and maintains that based on their tests, there is no indication of a problem with the fuel supplied. Nevertheless, the company has activated its insurance and will cover repairs for affected customers, provided damage is confirmed.

The incident has left drivers stranded, facing unexpected repair costs, and struggling with transportation needs, particularly with the upcoming holidays. The situation has caused significant disruption, with one driver highlighting the difficulty of getting children to school without a functioning vehicle.
