Israeli eSIM Provider Launches Family Plan for Holiday Travelers
Ahead of the upcoming Sukkot and Simchat Torah holidays, Israeli eSIM company VOYE GLOBAL has introduced a new family eSIM account. This service allows multiple family members to share a common data pool under a single account, with each person receiving a separate eSIM. Usage is tracked and managed through a central account, aiming to simplify data management for families traveling together.
Previously, families often had to purchase and manage multiple individual data plans. The new family account offers a consolidated solution where a shared data pool can be bought and monitored, allowing each family member to consume data based on actual needs without pre-assigned limits. The family plans are available for 30-day periods across four tiers, with prices ranging from 55 to 245 shekels, depending on the data volume.
The launch coincides with a significant rise in eSIM adoption among Israelis. VOYE GLOBAL reported a 4.4-fold increase in eSIM package orders in July-August 2026 compared to the same period in 2025. The average duration of use per trip also increased from four to six days. Notably, 28% of travelers used eSIMs in more than one country during a single trip, and 27% purchased eSIMs more than once, nearly doubling from the previous summer.
Data also shows that Israelis continue to purchase eSIMs very close to their travel dates, with 74% buying less than 24 hours before use. Greece was the top destination in summer, accounting for approximately 19% of orders and 14% of total data consumption. Average data usage in Japan and Thailand was three to four times higher than in European destinations. The most popular package was a 6GB plan for 7 days in Greece.
Demand also surged for destinations with newly opened or expanded flight routes, including Georgia, Lithuania, and Norway, which saw over a 13-fold increase in orders. Belgium experienced a more than 20-fold increase. Additionally, the number of eSIM orders from foreign tourists visiting Israel grew 12-fold compared to summer 2025.
A study by Kantar for VOYE GLOBAL indicated that 38.4% of Israelis who traveled abroad purchased an eSIM, compared to 34% who opted for a data plan from an Israeli cellular provider. Sagi Shantag, CEO of VOYE Global, stated that the summer data reflects changing travel habits, with Israelis becoming more flexible, visiting multiple destinations, and preparing for trips closer to departure. He added that the family account addresses the need for simpler connection management for traveling families.
