Hapoel Tel Aviv Midfielder Douglas Awosou Ranked Among World's Best Young Talents
Douglas Awosou, a midfielder for Israeli Premier League club Hapoel Tel Aviv, has been recognized as one of the world's top young football players outside of Europe's top five leagues. The weekly study by the football research group CIES ranked players aged 21 and under, with Awosou being the sole representative from the Israeli league.
Awosou secured the 34th position overall with a score of 78.4 out of 100. He particularly excelled in ball control, earning a score of 77, along with strong showings in playmaking (67) and finishing (69). Notably, he ranked tenth globally in the 'ball control' category, which includes dribbling.
The Ghanaian winger, who was Hapoel Tel Aviv's most expensive acquisition, has made a significant impact since joining the team. He has scored two goals in his five appearances in the Israeli Premier League, scoring in his first two starts. Awosou was brought in to replace Luizão, who transferred to Red Star Belgrade.
