Hapoel Tel Aviv Star Douglas Owusu Ranked Among World's Best Young Talents

Douglas Owusu, a standout player for Hapoel Tel Aviv, has been recognized as one of the world's top young talents in his age group. A weekly study by the football research group CIES included Owusu in its prestigious list, which ranks the best players under 21 years old who are not playing in Europe's top five leagues. Owusu, Hapoel Tel Aviv's most expensive acquisition, secured the 34th position overall with a score of 78.4 out of 100.

His strengths highlighted in the study include ball retention, where he scored 77 out of 100, game building with a score of 67, and finishing at 69. Notably, in the specific category of "ball retention," which encompasses dribbling, Owusu ranked tenth globally. The Ghanaian winger has already made a significant impact for Hapoel Tel Aviv, scoring two goals in his first five league appearances, including in his first two starts.

Owusu's transfer to Hapoel Tel Aviv was part of a deal that saw him move from Red Star, with the winger being sold to Hodorov. He effectively replaced Luizão, who had transferred to Red Star.
