RealSense Acquired for $600 Million, Boosting Employee Payouts
RealSense, a company that spun off from Intel and became independent in July 2025, has been sold to American firm Cognex for $600 million. The company, which employs 180 people with 135 based in Israel and its development center located in Haifa, is expected to provide significant financial windfalls for dozens of its employees, with many set to receive over one million shekels.
RealSense originated as an internal operation within Intel before its separation. Since becoming an independent entity in July 2025, it successfully raised $50 million. Following its split from Intel, the company expanded its workforce and tripled its revenues. For 2026, RealSense projects revenues between $80 million and $90 million, indicating growth exceeding 50% compared to the previous year. If revenues reach the mid-point of this projection, approximately $85 million, the acquisition price represents more than seven times its projected annual revenue.
Led by Nadav Orbach, RealSense develops depth cameras and computer vision technologies. These enable robots and autonomous systems to create 3D environmental maps, identify objects, estimate distances, and navigate spaces. The technology finds applications in autonomous mobile robots, robotic arms, humanoid robots, and industrial automation systems. RealSense serves over 4,500 clients globally and operates in sectors including logistics, healthcare, and security.
