Israeli Cycling Team Launches Scholarship in Memory of Fallen Rider

The Israeli cycling team NSN has launched the Finn Tarling Scholarship to foster young talent from Wales, the rider's home country, in his memory. Tarling tragically died during a race on August 14.

The initiative, designed to honor Tarling's legacy, will annually select a Welsh male or female cyclist between the ages of 15 and 20. The chosen rider will receive comprehensive professional support, including equipment, training, and participation in development team training camps. The scholarship is planned to run for at least the next five years.

"Anyone who knew Finn knew there was nothing he loved more than cycling," said NSN Development Team Manager Tim Alverson. "He was determined to become a professional and reach the WorldTour. When we thought about how best to commemorate him, we knew Finn would want more than anything to see other young riders follow in his footsteps."

The scholarship recipient will be integrated into the professional support system of the NSN Development Team. If professionally ready, the possibility of joining the team as an intern later in the season will be considered. The selection process will be conducted in collaboration with the Welsh Cycling Union and Finn's parents, Michael and Dawn Tarling. The first recipient is expected to join the team's training camp in February 2027.

Finn Tarling, a promising young rider, was killed during a race while representing the NSN Development Team, cutting short his journey toward his dream of becoming a professional cyclist and reaching the WorldTour.
