Residents of Giv'at Binyamin-Adam, together with the local emergency and rescue team, escorted the Havshush family on Sunday afternoon as it left for the funeral of their son, Staff Sgt. Noh Havshush. The procession was marked with Israeli flags, and hundreds of residents stood along the route to pay final respects to the young soldier.
Havshush, who served as a tank commander in Battalion 52, was killed on Thursday night in Lebanon in the tank disaster. He will be buried at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. Channel 7 said it would broadcast the funeral procession live.
The same tank incident in southern Lebanon also killed Staff Sgt. Liav Kebabia, Staff Sgt. Yoav Klein, and Lt. Col. Dor Gedalya Ben Shimon, the commander of Battalion 52. Havshush is the third fallen soldier from Giv'at Binyamin-Adam since the war began, and the 64th fallen resident of the Binyamin Regional Council. He is survived by his parents, Haim and Einav, and his sisters Noam and Nesya.
