Israeli Cybersecurity Firm Cyera Raises $1 Billion in Funding
Israeli cybersecurity firm Cyera announced it has secured an additional $400 million from Goldman Sachs Alternatives, expanding its recent Series G funding round. This latest investment brings the total raised in the round to $1 billion over three months, following an initial $400 million led by Evolution Equity in June.
The company plans to use the funds to accelerate the development of its AI security platform, which integrates data security and identity management. Cyera's CEO, Yotam Shagav, stated that the investment will enable the company to enhance its offerings as AI agents become more integrated into organizational workflows, posing new security risks.
Cyera's platform is designed to address the challenges posed by autonomous AI agents, which can access sensitive information and perform actions independently. The company argues that traditional security systems, built for humans and applications, are often inadequate for managing the growing number of autonomous entities.
Founded in 2021 by Yotam Shagav, Yonatan Itai, and Tamar Bar-Ilan, all graduates of elite Israeli military units, Cyera is now valued at over $12 billion. The company has also expanded its capabilities through the acquisition of Oasis Security, which specializes in non-human identity management and security.
Goldman Sachs Alternatives, a division of Goldman Sachs managing over $706 billion in alternative investments, sees AI security as a critical future technology. Irit Kahn, Managing Director at Goldman Sachs Alternatives, noted Cyera's early identification of this market need and its strong position due to its technology and customer trust.
