Goldman Sachs Invests $400 Million in Israeli AI Security Firm Cyera
Investment banking giant Goldman Sachs is injecting $400 million into Israeli cybersecurity company Cyera, expanding the startup's latest funding round. This investment follows Cyera's initial $600 million raise in June, which valued the company at $12 billion. The new funding has quadrupled Cyera's valuation in just 18 months.
Cyera, founded in 2021 by Talpiot and Unit 8200 alumni, specializes in data security and has recently expanded its focus to securing AI agents and their access to organizational information. The company's platform provides visibility and control over the data accessed by AI agents and their actions. This expansion was bolstered by Cyera's $1 billion acquisition of fellow Israeli cybersecurity firm Oasis Security, which focuses on managing and securing non-human identities.
The combined capabilities of Cyera and Oasis Security aim to enable large organizations to manage access for humans, systems, and AI agents from a single platform, ensuring their actions align with business intent and permissions. This integration is particularly relevant as AI agents become increasingly autonomous and integrated into corporate workforces, posing new security challenges that traditional systems are not designed to handle.
Goldman Sachs' investment arm, managed in Israel by Irit Kahn, has a significant history of investing in technology and growth-stage companies, managing over $706 billion in alternative investments. Cyera's existing investors include major venture capital firms such as Lightspeed, Sequoia, and Accel. The company serves major clients including Paramount, Chipotle, and Valvoline.
