Israeli Cybersecurity Firm Cyera Raises $1 Billion in Funding
Israeli cybersecurity firm Cyera has announced a new $400 million investment from Goldman Sachs Alternatives, completing a total funding round of $1 billion within three months. This latest investment follows a $400 million round in June led by Evolution Equity.
The company plans to use the funds to accelerate the development of its AI security platform, which integrates data security and identity management. Cyera's platform is designed to address the new risks introduced by AI agents entering organizations, which can access sensitive information and perform actions autonomously.
"As AI agents gain more access to information and systems and can perform more actions independently, organizations must know they remain in control," said Cyera CEO Yotam Shagav. "The current investment will allow us to continue connecting data security and identities, and give the world's largest organizations the confidence to expand their use of AI safely."
The funding will also support Cyera's expansion into the U.S. federal market and further growth in Europe, the Middle East, Africa (EMEA), and Asia-Pacific (APAC). The company, founded in 2021 by Yotam Shagav, Yonatan Itai, and Tamar Bar-Ilan, all graduates of elite Israeli military units, is now valued at over $12 billion.
Cyera recently acquired Oasis Security, enhancing its platform with non-human identity management and security, enabling unified access control for humans, systems, and AI agents. Goldman Sachs Alternatives manages over $706 billion in assets, with its growth equity arm having invested over $17 billion in technology companies since 2003.
