Ajax Reporter Criticizes Israeli Midfielder Oscar Gloukh

Dutch journalist Dan Suttorius, who covers Ajax for the Amsterdam newspaper Het Parool, has sharply criticized Israeli midfielder Oscar Gloukh, despite the player's encouraging performances in recent matches. Suttorius, a former semi-professional footballer turned media personality, made his remarks on the Branie podcast.

"I think he is too focused on personal success," Suttorius stated. "It's so annoying that in every situation he always checks first what he himself can do, and not what options he has around him. I think out of 10 balls he receives, in six, seven, even eight of them he makes the wrong decision. If someone keeps making the same mistakes over and over, at some point it starts to get annoying."

Suttorius's comments come at a peculiar time, as Gloukh has been in good form. The Israeli player scored and assisted in a 5-1 victory against Willem II, and then provided an assist in a 2-2 draw with Excelsior. He played the full 90 minutes in both of these games.

In addition to his critique of Gloukh, Suttorius also commented on the club's overall policy. "If Ajax doesn't win the championship now, I have a feeling that next summer there will be a big exodus and many new players will have to be brought in again. Then you are essentially starting almost from scratch again. In my opinion, this is a very critical reservation about Ajax's current policy. I don't have a feeling that Ajax is building a successful team for the coming years."
