Otzma Yehudit Slams Attorney General Over Balad Leader's Knesset Candidacy

The far-right Otzma Yehudit party has sharply criticized the Attorney General, Gali Baharav-Miara, for her stance on disqualifying Sami Abu Shehadeh, the leader of the Balad party, from running in the upcoming Knesset elections. Otzma Yehudit argued that the materials they provided to the court necessitate Abu Shehadeh's disqualification, asserting that the state should have gathered this evidence itself.

In a strongly worded statement, Otzma Yehudit accused Baharav-Miara of failing to unequivocally call for Abu Shehadeh's disqualification, suggesting this indicates she is unfit for her role. The party claimed their petition against Abu Shehadeh is detailed and well-supported by evidence they believe the state should have proactively collected.

The party further alleged that the Attorney General is siding with terrorists and terror supporters instead of the Israeli people. Otzma Yehudit also linked the Balad leader's situation to the Ra'am party, stating that both Abu Shehadeh and Ra'am must be removed from the Knesset.

Otzma Yehudit vowed to continue its efforts to expel terror supporters from the Israeli parliament, emphasizing they will not rest until this goal is achieved.
