Netanyahu Trial: Lawyer Questions Summons of Former Attorney General Mandelblit

Attorney David Peter, a new member of the Likud party, questioned the decision to summon former Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit to testify in the Netanyahu trial. Speaking on Radio Galai Israel on Tuesday, Peter argued that the entire case, including the timing of the indictment itself, was politically motivated.

Peter asserted that "all these cases, as admitted by some senior law enforcement officials, were intended to remove Netanyahu from political life." He emphasized that law enforcement had not anticipated Netanyahu's continued political fight and subsequent refusal to resign.

"I don't think they will have any choice but to summon Mandelblit," Peter stated, adding, "They have no justification not to do so. The truth must be revealed."

He further questioned the hesitation, noting, "And you know what's funny? He is the chief prosecutor, this should actually help the opposition summon him... What are you afraid of?"
