Boy George to Perform in Tel Aviv Amidst International Boycott Calls

British singer Boy George is scheduled to perform in Tel Aviv on November 4 at the Menora Mivtachim Arena, Live Nation Israel producers Guy Besser and Shay Mor Yosef announced Tuesday. The concert, part of his international tour, will feature a 360-degree stage setup in the center of the venue. This event marks a rare international artist performance in Israel since the start of the war.

Boy George has publicly expressed support for Israel and the Jewish community in recent months. He declined to join calls for boycotting the Eurovision 2026 competition due to Israel's participation, stating he would not turn his back on his Jewish friends. In July, he released the song "We Will Dance Again," dedicated to the victims of the Hamas attack at the Nova music festival on October 7, 2023. The song supports Israel, refutes genocide accusations regarding Gaza, and criticizes artists opposing the Jewish state.

The song's release led to criticism and professional repercussions. Boy George withdrew from a West End production of "Jesus Christ Superstar" and parted ways with his record label executive, who reportedly refused to release the song. "Because of my decision to support my Jewish friends, I am losing some people in my life," he stated.

Boy George, known for his 1980s success with Culture Club and hits like "Karma Chameleon," previously performed in Israel in 2017. Ticket prices will range from 280 to 799 shekels, with sales opening on Wednesday, September 23, at noon.
