Boy George Announces Concert in Israel Amidst Public Support

British pop star Boy George will perform in Israel on November 4 at the Menora Mivtachim Arena in Tel Aviv, as part of an international tour. The concert, announced by producers Guy Besser, Shai Mor Yosef, and Live Nation Israel, will feature a 360-degree stage setup in the center of the arena. This event marks a rare appearance by an international artist in Israel during a period when such performances have become infrequent.

In recent months, Boy George has publicly expressed support for Israel and the Jewish community. During the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest, he refused to join calls for boycotting the competition due to Israel's participation, stating he would not abandon his Jewish friends. In July, he released the song "We Will Dance Again," dedicated to the victims of the October 7 Nova Festival massacre. The song defends Israel against accusations of genocide in Gaza and criticizes artists opposing the country.

The song's release led to professional repercussions for Boy George. He withdrew from the West End production of "Jesus Christ Superstar," where he was slated to play Herod, and his record label manager refused to release the track. Boy George commented on these consequences, stating, "Because of my decision to stand by my Jewish friends, I am losing some people from my life."

Boy George rose to fame in the 1980s as the lead singer of Culture Club, known for hits like "Karma Chameleon." He has performed in Israel previously; in 2017, he appeared at the Menora Mivtachim Arena with the band, featuring Dana International as a guest.

Ticket prices for the upcoming concert range from 280 to 799 shekels, with sales beginning on September 23 at 12:00 PM.
