Sergey Aksyonov, the Russian-appointed governor of Crimea, said civilian fuel sales on the peninsula have been completely suspended until further notice. He said that, for now, fuel will be supplied only to emergency services and government bodies.
In recent weeks, residents had still been able to buy fuel under a rationing system using coupons. Sales were limited to 20 liters per person per day. Aksyonov’s announcement means even that restricted civilian access has now been stopped entirely.
The measure applies across Crimea and takes effect immediately, with no timeline given for when normal sales might resume.
