Weapons Cache Found in Refrigerator at Galilee Horse Stable

Israeli police discovered a significant cache of weapons and ammunition hidden inside a refrigerator at a horse stable in the village of Maghar in the Galilee on September 17. The discovery was made during a proactive operation by Border Police and Northern District officers aimed at locating illegal weapons used by criminal elements involved in violent incidents. Among the seized items were a "Carlo" submachine gun, a rifle with loose ammunition, 24 boxes of ammunition, and a hand grenade wrapped in plastic. All findings were sent for forensic analysis.

The operation in Maghar is part of an ongoing effort by police to combat criminal elements in the north. The following day, in Afula, police arrested a 24-year-old suspect found carrying a stolen IDF hand grenade near a residential building. In a separate incident from the same week, two residents of the northern village of Usfiya, Mahmoud Faour, 25, and Mahdi Abu Samra, 23, were indicted for shooting at a residential home and then firing at pursuing police officers. According to the indictment, the two, along with a third individual, planned to kill a local resident using an M16 rifle. They allegedly approached the victim's home around 11:30 PM, firing extensively and causing damage to the entrance and vehicles. Responding officers initiated a pursuit of the suspects' vehicle, which was reportedly driven recklessly.
