Kupon Rashit Premiere Dominates Ratings, Beating All Competitors
The Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation's Channel Kan 11 achieved a rare and significant victory in primetime ratings on Monday evening, largely driven by the premiere of the new season of the popular comedy "Kupon Rashit" (The Main Till). The show's launch garnered an impressive 16.4% rating, attracting nearly half a million viewers (489,000), marking the highest premiere rating in the show's history and a substantial increase from its previous season's launch.
"Kupon Rashit" significantly outperformed its main competitor, Keshet 12's "Special Interview," which secured 12.6% of the audience (372,000 viewers). Other channels lagged considerably, with Reshet 13's film "Hilula" receiving only 3.7% and Channel 14's "The Patriots" taking third place with 7.3%.
Kan 11's success extended into the second primetime slot, where the debut episode of the series "People I Met" achieved an 8.6% rating (251,000 viewers), surpassing Keshet 12's "Intimate," which garnered 7.0% (217,000 viewers).
However, Keshet 12 maintained its dominance in the earlier evening news slots. Its 7 PM newscast, "Early Edition," led with 9.0%, while Kan 11's equivalent program received only 1.5%. In the main evening news, Keshet 12's "News 12" anchored by Adva Dadon was the clear leader with 12.6% (361,000 viewers), ahead of Channel 14's holiday evening news (5.5%), Kan 11's broadcast (4.3%), and Reshet 13's news (3.8%).
Overall, the evening's ratings represent an unprecedented achievement for Kan 11 in the central evening hours, underscoring the strong performance and current lack of competition for "Kupon Rashit" in the Israeli television market.
