Community Builder and Charity Founder Herzl Gildengorn Dies
Herzl Gildengorn, a key figure in the community of Moshav Nir Galim and a founder of the "Shishnatzel" charity initiative, has passed away. Since the outbreak of the current conflict, Gildengorn was instrumental in the project that provided comfort to thousands of soldiers on the front lines and in assembly areas.
The "Shishnatzel" initiative involved weekly gatherings where volunteers prepared, baked, and packaged hundreds of portions of fresh challah bread with hot schnitzel. These meals were then sent to IDF soldiers in the field before Shabbat.
Beyond boosting soldier morale, the initiative held special significance as each week's activity was dedicated to the memory and spiritual elevation of a different fallen IDF soldier. This practice fostered a close connection with bereaved families and honored the legacy of the fallen.
