Israeli Arab School Conducts Earthquake Preparedness Drill

The Ort Halmi Shfai School in Acre, an Israeli Arab community, organized an awareness drill for its tenth-grade students on how to act safely during earthquakes and emergencies. The exercise aimed to increase student awareness and knowledge of essential steps during seismic events, promoting rapid and organized responses to ensure everyone's safety.

The drill was supported and overseen by the school principal, Professor Mohamed Hajjuj, and coordinated by tenth-grade director Tahreer Muslimani and social education coordinator Maysoun Hawamdi. Teachers of the tenth-grade classes also participated, guiding students through the drill stages and contributing to its success.

Principal Hajjuj emphasized the importance of such drills in fostering a culture of prevention and readiness among students, stating that the safety of students and staff is the school's top priority. The school affirmed through these activities its commitment to educating students on responsibility, awareness, and preparedness, believing that a school's mission extends beyond academics to include preparing aware students capable of acting responsibly in various situations.
