In its message, yes told viewers that the episodes “return to that terrible day” and stand on their own, so anyone who finds them too hard to watch can skip them without losing the thread of the season. The broadcaster added that the story will continue in the following week’s episode.

The fifth season of Fauda was rewritten after the Hamas attack of October 7 and the war in Gaza, known in Israel as the Swords of Iron war. The series creators, Lior Raz and Avi Issacharoff, incorporated the war’s consequences as a major part of the plot, but the two episodes airing this week were built as a separate narrative unit that is not necessary to understand what comes next.
