Yes has issued an unusual warning to viewers of the fifth season of "Fauda," saying the next episodes will return to the events of October 7 and may be distressing for some audiences. The series has already been framed, since its launch, around revenge by an undercover Israeli team against the Nukhba militants who attacked communities near the Gaza border on October 7, but until now it had not directly dealt with that day itself.
According to Yes, episodes 7 and 8, airing this week, are based on the October 7 attacks and include content, images and sounds that may be hard to watch. The company said the episodes stand on their own and described them as a kind of self-contained, "bubble" chapter within the season.
In its statement, Yes told viewers, "If watching is too difficult, it is also okay to skip them and reconnect with the season’s storyline in the episode that will air next week." It added, "There are too many people, unfortunately, who could be harmed if they do not know in advance," including post-traumatic soldiers.
The company also said the episodes are important and will do "an international service for the state," but stressed that viewers who choose not to watch can continue with the plot next week.
