Victim's Family Outraged as Military Prosecution Halts Full Demolition of Terrorist's Home

The family of Yehuda Shmuel Sherman, who was killed in a recent terror attack, expressed outrage after the military prosecution decided to only partially demolish the home of the terrorist responsible, Duas Hasson. The IDF informed the Sherman family that the demolition, scheduled to occur after Yom Kippur, would be conducted using the "breaching wind" method, which involves damaging only blocks, doors, and windows.

This method, according to the family, does not destroy the structure and allows for its quick repair and reuse. They view this decision as a severe blow to deterrence against terrorism in the West Bank and a sign of weakness. The family stated, "This is called security negligence and minimal deterrence." They are particularly incensed that the military prosecution repeatedly finds legal justifications to prevent the complete razing of the terrorist's "terror structure."

The family believes that leaving the structure intact sends a message of weakness to Palestinian terrorism and fails to achieve the necessary deterrence to prevent future attacks. They accused the military prosecution of supporting Palestinian terrorism in the West Bank by not fully demolishing the terrorist's home, which they noted belonged to a 51-year-old father who intentionally left his spacious home to murder a Jew, knowing his property would remain intact.
