Rabid Jackal Found in Golan Heights; Three Exposed Seek Treatment
Israel's Ministry of Health announced on Tuesday that a jackal infected with rabies was discovered in the community of Ramot, located in the Golan Heights regional council. Three individuals who came into contact with the infected animal have been referred for preventative treatment.
The ministry is urging anyone who may have had contact with the rabid jackal, or whose animals may have encountered it or other stray animals in the Ramot area between September 5th and September 19th, to immediately contact the Health Bureau in Tiberias or their local health office. This measure is being taken to ensure no further exposure occurs and to provide necessary medical intervention.
