Israeli Father of Three Drowns During Family Vacation in Slovenia
An Israeli man, Gil Hillel, 44, drowned to death on Sunday while on a family vacation in Slovenia. Hillel, a father of three, was a resident of Kibbutz Yizrael and was originally from the coastal community of Mikhmoret.
The exact circumstances surrounding the drowning are currently under investigation. The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been notified of the incident and is providing assistance to Hillel's family.
The ministry's department for Israelis abroad and the Israeli delegation in the region are accompanying the family and aiding in the arrangements to repatriate Hillel's body for burial in Israel. Funeral details have not yet been announced.
Kibbutz Yizrael issued a statement expressing deep sorrow over Hillel's death. He was born and raised in Mikhmoret and moved to Kibbutz Yizrael after marrying a member of the kibbutz, where he built his home and family. Members of the kibbutz were shocked and pained by the news and are surrounding his extended family, friends, and children with support.
