Samaria Regional Council Head Demands Offensive Action After Shooting Attack

Following a severe shooting attack near the settlement of Neve Tzuf in the Benjamin region, Yossi Dagan, head of the Samaria Regional Council, has called for a shift from defensive to offensive operations against Palestinian terrorism. The attack, which occurred at the Ein Ra'aya spring, left a resident of Samaria critically wounded when a passing vehicle opened fire on civilians.

Dagan, who was en route to visit the wounded man at Beilinson Hospital, condemned the attack and expressed hope for his recovery. He praised the IDF soldiers currently pursuing the assailant, who fled in a vehicle with Palestinian license plates.

In addition to the ongoing manhunt, Dagan urged security forces to intensify their activities within Palestinian villages. He specifically demanded house-to-house searches to confiscate illegal weapons and dismantle what he termed "terror infrastructure." Dagan also called for the immediate reinstatement of security checkpoints on roads to prevent the free movement of attackers.

"Israel must move from defense to offense and restore deterrence and security to the residents," Dagan stated, emphasizing that "settlement will never be broken." The wounded individual received initial medical treatment from Magen David Adom paramedics before being evacuated to the hospital in critical condition. Local emergency and social services teams are providing support to the victim's family.
