Samaria Council Head Vows More Settlements After Foiled Assassination Attempt on Defense Minister Katz

Yossi Dagan, head of the Samaria Regional Council, responded to the recent foiled assassination attempt on Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz during a ceremony marking the establishment of the new settlement Ganim in northern Samaria. Dagan emphasized that the attack attempt highlights the strategic importance of reestablishing Jewish presence in the area.

Following a report by military correspondent Hillel Biton Rozen revealing that a terrorist cell in Jenin planned to target Katz at the event, Dagan stated that the enemy understands the significance of returning to northern Samaria and that strong Jewish settlement changes the reality and strengthens Israel's security. He affirmed, "We will not hesitate and will continue to deepen our roots and establish more settlements."

Dagan further declared that where terrorism tries to harm them, they will respond with strength by building and settling more, asserting that terrorism will not determine where Jews live in the Land of Israel. The return to Ganim comes 21 years after its evacuation, marking a renewed commitment to expanding settlements in the region despite security threats.
