Rabbi Mordechai Auerbach Remembered in Gush Katif Mikveh Dedication Footage
Newly released footage shows Rabbi Mordechai Auerbach, who passed away last Saturday at the age of 84, at the dedication ceremony of a mikveh (ritual bath) in Tel Katifa, Gush Katif. The recordings, obtained by Channel 7, capture the rabbi speaking emotionally at the event. He was accompanied by Rabbi Simcha HaCohen Kook and Rabbi Yosef ElnKava, as well as Zvi Hendel.
Another image shows Rabbi Auerbach standing with Rabbi Simcha HaCohen Kook at the entrance to the mikveh. Rabbi Auerbach, who was close to the Religious Zionist movement, was born in Jerusalem in 1942. After marrying, he moved to Tel Aviv and became the rabbi of the "Abir Yaakov" community of the Sadigura Hasidic dynasty.
In recent years, Rabbi Auerbach delivered several lectures at the Ma'ale Eliyahu and Herzliya yeshivas. Additionally, students from the Kotel and Nitz Neta'im yeshivas visited him for blessings and advice. He was known as a rabbi and halachic decisor consulted by many for religious questions, guidance, and blessings.
