iPhone 18 Pro Review: Upgrades Worth Considering Despite Foldable Focus

Apple's new iPhone 18 Pro introduces significant upgrades, including a physically adjustable camera aperture and a faster, more power-efficient A20 Pro chip, despite the company's foldable iPhone Duo also launching this year. While outwardly similar to previous models, internal enhancements make the iPhone 18 Pro a notable device.

The device features a slightly larger and heavier design than its predecessor, with a 6.3-inch Super Retina OLED display that reaches 3,000 nits brightness. A key external change is the reduced size of the 'Dynamic Island,' made possible by integrating some Face ID components beneath the screen, enhancing its usability to display up to three simultaneous background activities.

The camera app also allows manual control over shutter speed and white balance, catering to more advanced users. New 'Styles' filters add cinematic or vintage effects, and a 'Soft Skin' option is available for selfies.

Performance is boosted by the new 2nm A20 Pro chip, which enhances speed and battery life, with Apple claiming up to 36 hours of video playback. The device also features a new vapor chamber cooling system to prevent overheating during intensive tasks. Despite the technological advancements, the iPhone 18 Pro comes with a high price tag, starting at approximately 5,029 NIS in Israel for the 256GB model.
