Citizen Confronts Man Tearing IDF Memorial Stickers in Jerusalem

A heated confrontation occurred at a Jerusalem train station when a citizen named Yinon confronted an individual caught tearing and defacing memorial stickers honoring fallen Israel Defense Forces (IDF) soldiers. Video footage of the incident, aired on the program "HaOlam HaBoker," shows a loud argument between the two.

Yinon vehemently told the suspect, "These are pictures of soldiers who fell in the war!" The suspect, however, continued his actions, responding, "What's the connection? You don't need to stick them on every fresh board, there are bulletin boards." Yinon, visibly upset, shouted, "You can't do this!" while the sticker-tearer attempted to justify his actions, adding, "It's not related, you don't need to stick them, many also died in attacks."

In an interview, Yinon Haim Dukan recounted the drama that prompted his intervention, revealing a deep personal and emotional motive. "I was finishing my morning shift... and right on the wall of one of the train station's pillars, he was standing on the railing, tearing off a memorial sticker." His personal connection to loss resurfaced as he recalled friends who fell in the war, thinking, "Maybe their stickers are there too."

Driven by a sense of duty and commitment to the fallen, Dukan explained he could not remain silent and felt compelled to detain the suspect. "My small part is to have the honor of guarding the dignity of those who died."
