Israeli Forces Violate Gaza Ceasefire, Strike Displaced Persons' Camps

Israeli military forces continued to violate the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip for the 346th consecutive day on Sunday, according to "Arab 48" news. The violations, brokered by Arab and American mediators in Sharm El Sheikh on October 10, 2025, included tank and military vehicle fire, artillery shelling, the demolition of homes, and strikes on tents housing displaced people and shelters. These incidents were concentrated in the southern Khan Younis governorate.

In Khan Younis, Israeli military vehicles fired heavily on the southern parts of the city, while helicopters targeted eastern areas. Artillery shelling also hit southern areas, accompanied by gunfire from deployed vehicles. In Gaza City, Israeli warships fired on the coast, and the eastern areas experienced intense tank fire. Helicopters also fired in eastern and northern Gaza.

Further incidents included helicopter fire near the "Al-Alam" roundabout south of Rafah and the use of smoke and illumination flares by Israeli forces in the eastern area of the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza.

These developments occur amidst ongoing Israeli violations across various parts of Gaza, despite the existing ceasefire agreement and understandings. The escalation coincides with continued disagreements over the implementation of the second phase of the truce, despite understandings reached in July 2026. Former U.S. President Donald Trump announced a "new agreement" on July 31, 2026, to initiate the second phase of the "road map" for Gaza, but Israeli violations persist.
