Jerusalem Murder Suspect's Detention Extended Amid Financial Motive Allegations
Jerusalem police have extended the detention of a suspect in the murder of 61-year-old Fatima Al-Rajabi, who disappeared from East Jerusalem. Authorities revealed that the victim and the suspect knew each other, and the alleged motive for the killing is a financial debt owed by the suspect.
Following the suspect's arrest on Friday, investigators conducted intensive searches that led them to the crime scene in East Jerusalem. The suspect reportedly reenacted the events at the location, where Al-Rajabi's body was discovered. The body was transported to the forensic institute for identification and further investigation into the circumstances of her death.
Video footage shows Al-Rajabi walking in the street and boarding a bus, marking the last known sighting of her before her abduction and murder. The suspect appeared before the Jerusalem Magistrate's Court on Saturday, and his detention was extended by the police until September 27.
