TV Host Noa Daromi Departs 'Cabinet Friday' for Family Shabbat

Television host Noa Daromi has announced her departure from the program 'Cabinet Friday' on i24NEWS, citing a desire to prioritize her family's Shabbat observance over her media career. Daromi, who was the inaugural anchor for the Friday evening news edition, explained in a detailed statement that she accepted the role two years ago as part of a "media revolution" to provide a Friday broadcast reflecting traditional, Zionist, and pro-Israel values for a significant segment of the Israeli public.

She acknowledged that her personal connection to the traditional sector presented challenges, particularly balancing work with family life, especially on Fridays and given her travel between central Israel and the far north. Daromi described her decision-making process as gradual, culminating in a feeling of readiness to make a choice several months ago. She informed program editor Moshe Harush and channel director Israel Taubito of her intention to step down.

It was mutually agreed that Daromi would continue hosting until after the upcoming elections, after which she would vacate the slot. Daromi expressed pride in being the first host of 'Cabinet Friday,' which she noted became the second most-watched Friday evening news program despite regulatory limitations and competition from established, decades-old broadcasts. She thanked the program's staff and editor for their dedication and ambition.

Daromi addressed her internal conflict, acknowledging the importance of the program's mission and the voice it provides. However, she ultimately stated that the role of the Shabbat table with her children and husband currently holds greater personal significance for her. She assured viewers that her departure is not immediate and that she will continue hosting until after the elections, hinting at a future role on i24NEWS in a different program currently under development.
