Israeli TV Host Bids Farewell to Co-Host Joining Politics

Yehuda Shlezinger bid farewell to his co-host Yaakov Bardugo on live television Tuesday evening, after ten months of presenting the program "Seven." Bardugo is leaving the studio to take the 11th spot on the Likud party's Knesset list.

Instead of a formal farewell speech, Shlezinger addressed Bardugo with a humorous and familiar tone, characteristic of close friends. "Good evening to you, Seven in the evening, good evening Yaakov," Shlezinger began, before explaining to viewers that after a long period of working together, the time had come for them to part ways.

Shlezinger playfully chided Bardugo, "I have to tell you something from the heart, Yaakov: You piece of a schemer, how did you not tell me anything?" he humorously exclaimed. He continued with a pointed jab at Bardugo's political insights, "Sitting here every day, hearing everything, knowing who's coming, who's going, who's switching parties and who's being thrown out before he even knows he's been thrown out, and I have to read about you leaving in media posts? 'Friend,' my foot."
