Hostage Survivor Rom Basslavsky Seeks Forgiveness at Western Wall

Rom Basslavsky, a survivor of Hamas captivity, visited the Western Wall in Jerusalem and shared a deeply personal and emotional post detailing his experiences during his time held hostage in Gaza. He expressed profound guilt and sought forgiveness from God for moments of weakness and doubt he endured.

Basslavsky revealed the immense emotional and physical toll of his captivity, including humiliation and torture. He apologized for times he felt broken, questioned his faith, and did not stand strong against his captors, recounting instances of fainting and crying. He also spoke of the constant struggle against his captors' attempts to convert him to Islam, stating he refused to yield.

Despite the hardships, Basslavsky emphasized the unwavering faith that sustained him. He described feeling God's presence daily and believed divine intervention would lead to his rescue. He likened his ordeal to the biblical binding of Isaac, feeling he had passed a test of faith.
