Bnei Sakhnin achieved their first victory of the 2026-27 season on Saturday, defeating Hapoel Ramat Gan 1-0 at home. The decisive goal came from new signing Liray Awous, who joined the team from Ajax.

Awous, 30, replaced the injured Maron Gantos just before halftime. In the 67th minute, he executed a skillful play in the box to score the winning goal in his debut match. Matthew Kodjo provided the assist, while Antonio Spohr hit the post moments earlier.

Despite facing boos from the home crowd at halftime due to a lackluster performance, Bnei Sakhnin, managed by Yossi Abuksis, improved their play in the second half, creating chances and securing the crucial win before the international break.
