Singapore Airlines Named World's Best Airline by Skytrax for 2026

Singapore Airlines has been awarded the title of the world's best airline for 2026 at the Skytrax World Airline Awards ceremony held in London. This marks the sixth time the Asian carrier has received this prestigious honor, often referred to as the 'Oscars of the aviation industry'.

Last year's winner, Qatar Airways, dropped to second place in the 2026 rankings. The Skytrax awards are based on a global survey where hundreds of thousands of passengers rate airlines across various categories, including service quality, seat comfort, check-in procedures, and onboard catering.

Asian and Middle Eastern airlines dominated the top rankings, with only six European carriers making it into the top 20. Cathay Pacific from Hong Kong secured third place, followed by Japan's All Nippon Airways in fourth, and Turkish Airlines rounding out the top five.

Emirates from the United Arab Emirates ranked sixth, with Air France in seventh. The top ten also included China's Hainan Airlines, Japan Airlines, and Korean Air. Spanish low-cost carrier Vueling was recognized as the best low-cost airline in Europe, while Qatar Airways also won an award for the fastest onboard internet.

Over 300 airlines worldwide were evaluated in this year's survey, and no Israeli airlines were included in the top rankings.
