US Congressman Warns Ben-Gvir's Presence in Government is Existential Threat to Israel

Brad Sherman, a Democratic Congressman from California and a long-time supporter of Israel, has issued a stark warning regarding the potential consequences of Israeli politics on US-Israel relations. Sherman cited a CNN report, recently recirculated on social media, which highlighted a decline in American public support for Israel. He believes that this trend, coupled with the presence of figures like Itamar Ben-Gvir in the Israeli government, poses a significant risk to Israel's standing.

Sherman stated that he spoke with Israeli Ambassador Yehiel Leiter, expressing his concern that many Israelis may not fully grasp the gravity of the situation. He emphasized that the stakes extend beyond the annual $3.8 billion in US aid, encompassing access to American weaponry and crucial diplomatic support.
