Turkish Drone Firm Releases Ad Showing Drone Destroying Merkava-Like Tank

Turkish drone technology company Skydagger has released a provocative 27-second promotional video depicting a drone attacking and destroying a tank that strongly resembles Israel's Merkava. The video, shared on social media, shows the tank, marked with a blue flag, appearing next to the word "problem." After the drone strike, the tank is shown destroyed, and the word "solution" replaces "problem."

While Skydagger does not explicitly identify the tank, the Turkish publication Istanbul Post linked it to the Israeli Merkava, noting its distinctive appearance and the blue flag on its turret. The Istanbul Post reported that this marks the first instance of a Turkish defense company openly featuring an Israeli army tank as a target in its advertising. The article also references the Merkava's 'Iron Fist' active protection system, designed to counter threats including top-down attacks, and highlights how the war in Ukraine has demonstrated the effectiveness of inexpensive FPV drones against heavy armor.

Skydagger, founded in 2024, specializes in drone technology and aims to be a global leader in autonomous systems. The company has recently entered into a partnership with American defense giant L3Harris to jointly develop and produce FPV interceptor drones in the United States, intended for integration into L3Harris's drone countermeasure system, VAMPIRE.
