Turkish Drone Firm's Ad Targets Israeli Merkava Tank

Turkish drone company Skydagger has released a 27-second promotional video depicting one of its drones attacking a tank resembling Israel's Merkava. The tank, flying a blue flag, is shown with the word "Problem" before its destruction, which then changes to "Solution." While the video does not explicitly name the tank, the Turkish news site Istanbul Post identified it as the Merkava, noting its distinctive shape and the flag. The site reported that the drone "dives and leaves the Merkava burning on the screen."

Istanbul Post further stated that the Merkava is a cornerstone of the Israel Defense Forces' armored corps and a primary vehicle in Gaza operations. The article highlighted that this marks the first time a Turkish defense company has openly featured an Israeli tank as a target in its promotional material. It also referenced the Merkava's 'Trophy' active protection system, designed to counter top-down threats, but pointed to the Ukraine war as evidence that inexpensive FPV drones can still destroy heavy tanks.

Skydagger, founded in 2024, specializes in drone technology and advanced IT solutions, aiming to be a global leader in autonomous systems. In June, the company announced a partnership with American defense giant L3Harris to develop and support advanced drone neutralization technologies. This collaboration includes the joint production of Skydagger's FPV interceptor drones in the United States for integration into L3Harris's VAMPIRE system, designed for drone countermeasures.
