Poll Shows Majority Prefers Alternative to Netanyahu as Prime Minister

A new poll conducted by "Uvda" (Friday Studio) reveals that 57% of the Israeli public prefers a candidate other than Benjamin Netanyahu for prime minister, a sentiment consistent with previous weeks. The bloc opposing Netanyahu also holds a significant lead in voting intentions, with 50% indicating they would vote for parties in that bloc, compared to 37% for Netanyahu's bloc. Approximately 4.8% of the public remains undecided or is considering parties from both blocs.

The survey also examined public opinion on various civilian issues, finding a clear advantage for a "change bloc" government over one led by Netanyahu. This advantage was most pronounced in areas such as equalizing the burden of military conscription, where 57% favored a change government versus 20% for Netanyahu's. Similar leads were observed for a change government in handling democracy and civil rights (54% vs. 27%), education (54% vs. 25%), healthcare (50% vs. 25%), Israel's global standing and public diplomacy (51% vs. 28%), cost of living and the economy (51% vs. 24%), transportation (49% vs. 24%), the justice system (50% vs. 31%), internal societal rifts (50% vs. 22%), and crime (49% vs. 28%).

Regarding public diplomacy since October 7, 2023, 75% of respondents rated it as poor, while only 17% considered it good. In terms of feeling secure sending children to the military, 48% trusted a change government led by Gadi Eisenkot, compared to 29% who trusted Netanyahu's government.

The poll, conducted by Midgam Research between September 17-19, 2026, surveyed 501 respondents and has a maximum margin of error of 4.4%. The results indicate a stable preference for an alternative to Netanyahu as prime minister and a strong public belief that a change government would better address the nation's daily challenges.
