French TV Channel Apologizes for Nuclear Attack Simulation Targeting Tel Aviv
French television channel RMC Découverte has publicly apologized and removed a documentary from all its platforms after a 3D simulation depicting a future nuclear strike mistakenly showed Tel Aviv as the target. The documentary, titled "The New Rafale, Drones and Cannons: The Revolution in French Armament," aired on September 1st and focused on the next generation of French weaponry.
Researcher Eloïse Faÿsse, a nuclear specialist at the French Institute of International Relations (IFRI), identified Tel Aviv as the city depicted in the simulation and brought the error to the channel's attention. The production company responsible for the segment, which is independently owned and Jewish, reportedly sourced the explosion video from a computer game, apparently without realizing its implication.
The channel stated that the simulation was intended to illustrate a hypothetical future nuclear attack scenario and expressed regret for the error and any offense caused.
