Dor Peretz Nears Record for Consecutive Scoring Games

Maccabi Tel Aviv midfielder Dor Peretz is on the verge of equaling a league record for scoring in consecutive matches. Peretz has scored in ten consecutive league games and, if he finds the net in the upcoming match against Hapoel Tel Aviv, he will match the record of 11 consecutive games with at least one goal.

This scoring streak began in the previous season's playoffs, where Peretz scored in six straight games. The run has continued into the current season, with goals in the last four matches, including a hat-trick against Hapoel Jerusalem and goals against Maccabi Haifa, Hapoel Be'er Sheva, and Hapoel Tel Aviv.

Should Peretz score, he will join an elite group. Eran Zahavi set the record of 11 consecutive scoring games in 2014. Last year, Dan Biton also achieved this feat while playing for Hapoel Be'er Sheva.

Notably, Zahavi's streak was controversially halted at 11 games. After scoring in a Tel Aviv derby in October, the match was abandoned when a fan attacked him on the field. Zahavi's goal was disallowed due to the game's suspension, ending his streak.

Peretz aims to help his team secure a victory while also pursuing this individual scoring milestone.
